The redbuds growing wild in our woods
Posted: March 23, 2012 Filed under: Gardens | Tags: nature, red bud trees 12 Comments »Driving up 75 to Dayton to see my parents on Wednesday I was stunned by the beauty of a section of land flanking the road. There were dark forest green, tall and slim evergreens interspersed with airy and bright lavendar redbud trees. Nothing else. Just the dense dark green against the graceful and airy lavendar. It looked like a painting.
Unfortunately I was driving and not able to take a picture, but I’m bringing you these two photos of the redbuds in our woods as a consolation prize instead.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

A tender splash of color. Have a great weekend, Christine.
I love the color of the redbud trees. I haven’t seen those before. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Looks lovely!
I know what you mean about the redbuds. I had some errands to run in Lexington today, and they were stunning, especially in the rain, for some reason.
Have a great weekend, my friend!
Hugs,
Kathy
It’s coming to life!
like fairy dust upon the landscape.
Beautiful photos. I love woods. They bring back childhood memories. We lived in an undeveloped area, and woods were common. You are right. Those photos of your woods are a treat. Blessings to you…
How lucky to have that wonderful color peeking out through the branches of other trees. It’s a striking tree.
Spring has sprung.
“The red buds growing wild in our woods ” truly warms the heart.
